School Starts Tomorrow (But Not Really)!

School starts tomorrow for Nordrhein-Westfalen, Aachen's Bundesland. However, I am required by CBYX to remain in support group for two more weeks, so I'll actually start September 1st-- the same week as South! Anyway, today I visited my new school, Viktoriaschule, to sign up for classes.

Willkommen bei Viktoriaschule!

Unlike South, which is in the middle of a pretty quiet neighborhood, Viktoriaschule is in a bustling city, and it definitely has an urban vibe to it. I'll be in the Oberstufe, which is the German equivalent of a senior high, so grades 10 through 12. I'll be in Q1, aka 11th grade. Hello 16- and 17-year-olds!

This is the How I Met Your Mother-inspired mural my older host brother's class did their "senior year."

After signing up for English, German, PE, music, history, social studies, biology, math, and other classes I'm probably forgetting, we took a little tour of the school. Biggest difference: the halls aren't lined with rows and rows of lockers. What?!?!? Also, the assembly hall/theater space is tip-top, especially when compared to the Rose at South. There are individual, cushioned chairs, huge windows, and a spanking wood floor.

What a pretty street view of Viktoriaschule's back entrance!
In other news, we learned quite a bit of German in support group. That said, we still enjoyed quite a few videos on the good ol' YouTube. All I'm saying is Flula. (Click to check him out.)
